  • Usage data — when you visit our site, we will store: the website from which you visited us from, the parts of our site you visit, the date and duration of your visit, your anonymised IP address, information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser type) you used during your visit, and the data that our Analytics provider Google Analytics collect (see here for more information). We process this usage data for statistical purposes, to improve our site and to recognize and stop any misuse.  Google is a privacy-oriented analytics tool that is GDPR compliant.
  • Cookies — we use cookies (small data files transferred onto computers or devices by sites) for record-keeping purposes and to enhance functionality on our site. SteelWatch collects data elements including first name, last name, email address, country of residence, and other details inputted by the user into our website forms, including those directly held on Steelwatch.org and those managed by SteelWatch on other platforms. We do this when you add your name to a campaign, sign up to an event, or sign up via any other forms, whether directly through our website and through the use of our widget placed on another web site, or when the user contacts us for information about how to get involved. 

Any use or disclosure of Personal Information will be in accordance with this privacy statement or where permitted or required by law. SteelWatch uses your Personal Information to communicate with you about our initiatives and progress to date on our organisational goals.

Data within our private system is accessible only by our team.

We do not share your data with anyone unless required for specific circumstances, such as fulfilling the purpose of the campaign, event, or action you signed on to, or to comply with regulation.

How long we retain your data

Your data will be securely stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for, or until you request that we remove it. You can unsubscribe from our emails and/or newsletter at any time by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of every email and/or newsletter.
