Rina Tsubaki works at the intersection of media engagement and online narrative and issue-mapping research. She is Media Engagement Lead at SteelWatch and previously led science–media capacity-building initiatives at the European Forest Institute.

She is pursuing a PhD at Wageningen University on public narratives and engagement around nature restoration and biodiversity conservation in Europe. Earlier, at the European Journalism Centre, she worked closely with newsrooms on social media monitoring, verification, and journalistic accuracy across Europe, Asia and beyond.
