Göksu joins SteelWatch with over eight years of experience campaigning across human rights, climate justice, and gender equality. Her work has ranged from leading Amnesty International Türkiye’s response to the country’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, to shaping campaign strategy around key international advocacy moments at Save the Children International, where she worked with colleagues across more than 40 countries on climate action and economic justice.

While new to steel decarbonisation, Göksu was immediately drawn to SteelWatch’s vision and mission. At SteelWatch, she knows the question is not whether the steel industry will change, but how fast and how fairly that transition happens. Her approach to campaigning is grounded in feminist principles of care, inclusive participation, and shared ownership. She believes that lasting change depends not only on policy wins, but also on expanding the circle of people who see a problem as theirs to solve. She is motivated by the power of collective action and the idea that justice grows when people come together to create it.

Göksu holds a degree in sociology and a master’s in human rights and democratisation. Outside work, she is happiest with good food, good company, a dog and/or cat nearby, and somewhere with a nice sea view.
